Welcome to the George Inn

The George Inn is a family-friendly coaching inn set within an acre of grassland on the banks of the River Wylye in the lovely village of Longbridge Deverill. Just a ten minute drive from Longleat safari park, and an hour from the coast, this cosy inn has become a family-favourite pit stop, whether it be for a quick high tea after a long day’s adventure, a comfortable overnight stay or a fun-filled weekend break…

With Stonehenge and Longleat within a short driving distance, The George Inn is the perfect place to stay for a while - explore the many historic sites and family fun days out. The 18th century landscape garden and Palladian mansion of Stourhead is just a stone’s throw away, along with the Bowood Estate, Salisbury Cathedral and the American Museum and Gardens.

Whilst The George specialises in providing affordable family fun, its dreamy setting and top-notch facilities also make it an ideal wedding venue - and a fabulous space for conferences and private events for up to 120 guests – and don’t forget we have ample space for a marquee or two for those with an extensive guest list!
