Welcome to the George Inn

Set in the picturesque Wiltshire village of Longbridge Deverill on the banks of the River Wylye, The George Inn is the perfect venue for a wedding or overnight stay, with its stunning views to enjoy and over an acre of beautiful grounds to explore.  We offer freshly prepared food, good local ale and fine wine, en-suite accommodation and a warm welcome

The George Inn has three defined areas in which to lunch or dine and spacious gardens for warm days and long summer evenings.  As well as the delicious daily menu which offers an array of seasonal home-cooked dishes we also have a fabulous Steak Menu and our every popular Sunday Carvery which is served from midday in our spacious Wylye Suite.

Alternatively, you can simply join us for a pint of real ale in our oak-beamed bar or enjoy a tea, coffee or early evening tipple on the banks of the river.

Whilst we specialise in weddings, we also have fantastic facilities for conferences and private events for up to 120 guests. Our accommodation ranges from standard double or twin rooms to larger family rooms; there is also a luxurious ‘four poster’ Longleat suite for those more romantic occasions.

With Stonehenge and Longleat within a short driving distance, The George Inn is the perfect place to stay and explore these historic sites. The 18th century landscape garden and Palladian mansion of Stourhead is minutes away, along with the Bowood Estate, Salisbury Cathedral and the American Museum and Gardens. Wedding page
